FROM FIRST IDEA TO FINISHED SURFACE

A clear path.
A considered result.

The right preparation makes room for beautiful work. Here is how your countertop project comes together, and what to have ready along the way.

THE STYLECRAFT PROCESS

Considered details.
From start to finish.

01

Share your space

Send a few photos, approximate measurements and the ideas you have in mind. Not sure about the stone yet? We can start there.

02

Choose your stone

Compare materials, colors and finishes. Confirm your sink, edge profile, backsplash and the details included in your estimate.

03

Measure & fabricate

Once the space is ready and the material is selected, the final template guides the cutouts, edges and fabrication.

04

Bring it home

Installation brings the surfaces together. We review the finished countertop and its care with you. Scheduling is confirmed for your project.

Before the template.

The final template should reflect the space exactly as it will be installed. Confirm the support, layout and fixtures before dimensions are finalized.

  • Cabinets and supporting structures are installed, secure and level.
  • Sink, faucet and cooktop models are selected and specifications are available.
  • Edge profile, overhang, backsplash and waterfall details are confirmed.
  • Any changes to walls, bar tops or utilities are identified and coordinated.

Before installation.

Clear the route into the home and the work area. Confirm who is responsible for removing the old surface, disconnecting and reconnecting plumbing, and addressing any wall damage. Your written estimate should explain the agreed scope.

For full-height stone backsplashes, a separate measurement after countertop installation may be needed. Ask how this affects your project’s schedule.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

A few good
questions.

What do you need for an initial estimate?

Photos of the full countertop, approximate lengths and depths, your project ZIP code and your preferred material are a helpful start. Include the sink area, backsplash and any island. Final pricing follows a review of the scope and measurements.

Can I replace the countertops and keep my cabinets?

Often, yes. The existing cabinets need to be level, secure and able to support the new stone. Their condition, the sink configuration and removal requirements should be checked before fabrication.

What affects the cost of new countertops?

The selected slab, total area, cutouts, edge profile, backsplash height, waterfall panels, removal and installation access all affect the estimate. Plumbing and other additional work should be identified separately in the written scope.

How long does the process take?

Timing depends on material availability, site readiness, fabrication details and the installation schedule. Your project timeline is confirmed after those details are reviewed.
